James M. Huger, CEO
James M. Huger, a graduate of Isidore Newman School, and The University of Virginia is the principal owner of Premium Parking Service a parking management company based in New Orleans with operations in Louisiana, Alabama, Texas, and California. Premium Parking is the parent company of Admiral Security Services. Jim has also developed over $40 million dollars of real estate including 40,000 square feet of Medical Offices, over 1,000 parking garage spaces, hundreds of apartments, two retail centers, and over 25 residential developments and condominiums.

 

Jim is a former member of the Board of Trustees of Isidore Newman School where he served as the Chairman of the Master Planning Committee. Currently he serves as the Chairman Emeritus of the Choice Foundation, the foundation he founded to promote school Choice in Louisiana.

 
 

Robert “Rusty” Barkerding, Jr., President, is a New Orleans native, who received his B.A. degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Prior to his involvement in the convention and tradeshow security industry, Rusty has 47 years of hands-on experience in the maritime industry. He has held field and executive positions at port locations on the lower Mississippi River, U.S. Gulf of Mexico, and Atlantic seaboard. Rusty is a U.S. Navy veteran of the submarine services and spent a number of years on the front lines of urban law enforcement as a member of the New Orleans Police Department.

 

 

Samuel M. Berman, Executive Vice President, is originally from Boston, Massachusetts.  He moved to New Orleans in September of 2006 to attend Tulane University and has remained here ever since.  He holds a BA in Political Science and a MA in Real Estate Development, both from Tulane University.

 

Sam brings significant operational experience as well as sales and business oversight experience to the Admiral Security team.  He oversees all of the day-to-day operations of the company,  managing contracts and focusing on financial, accounting, and reporting systems for Admiral that are intuitive and integrate well. Additionally he insures that all client transitions to Admiral’s services are seamless and on-time.

 

 

Harvey S Warnick, Field Operations Supervisor, started his security career at the age of 21, working armed and unarmed posts. His education includes Criminal Justice, Business Administration and Gunsmithing. Harvey has a diverse security background encompassing patrol, access control, hospital security, close protection and disaster relief operations. He has been employed by Admiral Security Services, Inc. since 2009. Promoted to Field Operations Supervisor in 2014, Harvey's team oversees, communicates and resolves security officer issues and operational procedures providing our clients with the quality assurance they trust and rely on.

 

 

 

Shannel Clipps Platenburg, Vice President, Conferences and Events, studied business at Dillard University and began her career working with non-profit organizations developing tools to support the quality of life for senior citizens and children. She has over fifteen years of experience in administrative support services, including marketing, event planning, project management and accounting. Her professional experience, talent, knowledge and management skills are the attributes to her proven commitment to excellence when designing and coordinating events’ logistics - from timelines to staff requirements to meeting budgets. 

 

 

Orsola Nelson, Operations Manager Mobile Office, began her security profession as a TWIC Escort at the Port of Mobile, Alabama. She began college in 2009 for Human Services. This included a curriculum of personal security and threat assessment.  She graduated in 2011 with a 3.91 for her Associates of Applied Arts and Sciences Degree from Kaplan Universality.  She continues her education in the health and safety courses provided by Kaplan University under the Advanced Bachelor’s Program for Human Services.  

In February 2012, she was promoteed to Operations Manager for Admiral Security Services of Alabama. In that time she has shown dedication to protecting secured areas for key clients in the ports of Mobile, Alabama and Pascagoula, Mississippi.

 

 

 

Polly Rowell, Office Manager, coordinates all administrative duties for Admiral Security. She and her team oversee the day-to-day office functions, personnel & corporate registrations and provide operational support.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

August 2015 - Admiral Security presented to the Greater New Orleans Hotel & Lodging Association on Hurricane and Emergency Preparedness. Our guards are Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP)-trained and know First Aid, CPR and AED. We enter contracts with firms that seek these qualifications on a full-time or ad hoc basis (i.e. 72 hours out from a possible hurricane/storm impact).Read more
