Admiral Security Services' team consists of highly qualified and experienced security officers who have been providing customized security programs for conventions, exhibits, industrial sites and maritime operations for more than 15 years.

Our senior management includes:

• Robert R. “Rusty” Barkerding, Jr., President – Rusty has 45 years of hands-on experience in the maritime industry with vast commercial experience in vessel agency, terminal operations, stevedoring and environmental response and clean-up services. He has held field and executive positions at port locations on the lower Mississippi River, U.S. Gulf of Mexico, and Atlantic seaboard. Rusty is a U.S. Navy veteran of the submarine service and spent a number of years on the front lines of urban law enforcement as a member of the New Orleans Police Department. He has many professional affiliations in the maritime community and holds a BA from Tulane University.

• Richard N. Kammer, Operations Manager – Dick is a Certified Professional Engineer with 20 years of experience in the New Orleans Police Department Reserve Division, including that of an award-winning District Commander. He also served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve for nearly a decade. Dick is conversant in safety and security matters throughout the maritime industry. He holds a BS from Tulane University.

• David R. Kent, Account Executive MS, CPP – David is a retired New Orleans Police Department First Deputy Chief, with 45 years of law enforcement experience, including police management, crime mitigation and public safety administration. He is a former adjunct professor in the Criminal Justice Masters program at Loyola University. David has extensive experience in protective security consulting and has served as a loss-prevention expert witness in numerous security performance litigation cases. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and was honorably discharged in 1964 and holds an MS from Loyola University.

• Tom Purvis, General Manager - Mobile, AL – Tom is a retired Sheriff of Mobile County and has a lifetime of law enforcement experience with the Mobile Police Department and the Mobile County Sheriff's Office. Tom is well known in the local law enforcement community and, as Admiral Security Services General Manger, is responsible for Mobile's daily operations, including the hiring, scheduling and supervision of all security guards. Tom is also the Honorary Consul of Bolivia in Mobile.
